Natyra Film

Not only in Kosovo but also in Balkans, women have been denied access to professions related to audiovisual arts, like camera woman and others. Such training is currently implemented by Natyra Film production in Gjakova. 15 female participants are trained for: camera, audio/sound, lightning, reporter, photography, acting, script writing, screenplay writing, editing and producing a documentary film. The training will last three months and each class will have three trainees for each profession.

With this training we hope to make an example and to give inspiration to all the women in Kosovo and surrounding countries. The goal of the project is to:
Support the economic development of women, including them in the profitable professions linked to television and film production
The objectives of the project are to:
Insure the access of women to the media professions, through training them in the specific fields;
Contribute to the well-running of the media for minority community, ensuring the professional preparation of women for the media professions.

Medica Kosova>
The project goal is increase of income generation of women involved in the production of honey and milk through selling of these products to private companies (supermarkets and milk factories from Gjakova and other surrounding regions).
The project can reach this goal through achievement of following objectives:

  • Development of management skills on marketing strategies and market research among 57 women involved with the production of honey and milk and
  • Bringing the women closer to the market where they can promote and sell their products.

The project included 42 women involved in cow care coming from the villages of Dobrosh, Korenica and Krelan, and 15 women involved with the production of honey from the villages of Shishmon in Bokes and Irzniq (Deqan municipality).
The women received 15 training sessions during the period of three months (3 sessions x 5 groups) from each village with 8-12 participants/group/village. Parallel to increasing the knowledge on marketing strategies and definition of steps, Medica accompanied the women through the process of contacting distribution channels in Gjakova, Prizren and Peja. The private milk companies like GOLAJ and VITA who have already been offering the women capacity building trainings will remain on the cooperation field as well as some private big supermarkets from Gjakova and Prizren (NERTIL, BENAF etc).

Economic School “Kadri Kusari” Gjakove
There are currently two trainings running in this school. One is for “Forwarding-Customs Assistant” and the second training is for “Legal Assistants”.

"Forwarding-Customs Assistants"
The aim of this Project is increasing the forwarding-customs officer skills of young unemployed females and stimulating their chances to find a job, building up their capacities, as well as encouraging the employment of women. 12 participants of this training are trained in the following topics: goods elements, contracting right, applicative informatics, insurances, customs and customs works and advanced English language. After the training, in a rotation system, participants will do the practice work in the customs and forwarding-customs offices in the border. The duration of this training is 3 months.

"Legal Assistant"
The Project aim is for training of candidates to get employed at lawyers’ offices and state institutions (such as Municipal Court, Municipalities etc).This training is combined with practical work. Three month training (theoretical part) and one month traineeship in Municipal Court of Gjakova and lawyers’ offices. This training will attend 12 young ladies from Gjakova that finished the secondary juridical school.

Radio Gjakova
Radio Gjakova started with the new project “Women in business/live emission”. The Project consists on planning, organizing and implementing the emission women in business which is running once per week for half hour. In this emission different business topics and news are treated. This emission mainly has to do with live interviews with successful business women and different topics such as:

  • Current employment situation (in close cooperation with Regional employment Office);
  • Local government approach/strategy for creation of new jobs (with representatives of Gjakova municipality)
  • Civil society and employment (in close cooperation with NGO’s active in business community).

The emission will run until December 15, 2007.

Top Radio
Top Radio started with the new project “Women in politics – a step towards European Standards/live emission”.
The Project consists on planning, organizing and implementing the emission women in politics.
- In this emission different topics and news are treated regarding integration of women in politics and their role. This emission mainly has to do with live interviews with deputies in parliament, members of municipal assembly and representatives of women forums of all political parties (position and opposition). The representatives of the Faculty of political science will be also invited.
The emission will run until December 15, 2007.

 

Facilitation techniques training for BDS providers.

 

This training was held in Ohrid, Macedonia in May (01.05.2007 – 04.05.2007).
Responding to the aim of the WBDP project, to enhance the capacities of local service providers, supporting the local BDS providers in the development of human resources within their organization and their institutional capacities, in order to enable them to identify, develop and offer reasonable quality services along the demand of the market, WBDP has organized this training for 13 its project partners (local BDS providers) and engaged Ms. Edlira Muedini from CIVET Company from Albania to implement the above mentioned training.

MAR/MDA Coaching Project
This coaching project is currently implemented by MAR/MDA from Prishtina. The aim of this project is to enhance the capacities of local service providers, supporting the local BDS providers in the development of human resources within their organization and their institutional capacities in order to enable them to identify, develop and offer reasonable quality services along the demand of the market.
This project provides coaching services to 7 BDS providers in Gjakova. and has started in March 2007.

The main objectives are to:

  • enhance the provision of the quality services;
  • build a client base;
  • create new opportunities;
  • get access to new markets;
  • strengthen human capacities;
  • improve public relation and marketing functions;
  • encourage approaching partnership opportunities.

The coaching project involves the following deliverables:

  • Preparation of an organization profile;
  • Preparation of brochure with service offerings;
  • Preparation of a list of references;
  • Preparation of a price list and pricing policy; and
  • Preparation of a procedure for approaching new clients.
